This communication is in response to the growing concerns about COVID-19, commonly referred to as coronavirus. All Strata Management Services (ASMS) are taking this opportunity to pro actively state our current position and expectations in relation to buildings we manage and our COVID-19 Plan going forward.
We are commencing this communication with you to transparently outline our COVID-19 Plan, and the Plan that is currently being developed for your specific building to ensure your safety and the safety of any contractors or visitors to your building.
From our end, along with developing and implementing our COVID-19 Plan (which we have attached for your reference), we have also proactively:
Regarding maintenance during this time, in order to restrict exposure to Contractors and Lot Proprietors / Residents, ASMS have put in place the following Priority Maintenance System to deal with maintenance jobs, unless advised otherwise by the Council of Owners.
It is important we all do everything we can to reduce our risk of COVID-19 exposure. Information on social distancing can be sourced at the following link:
In addition to social distancing, here are some additional safe practices to reduce the exposure:
Take extra caution in common garbage areas. Avoid touching common garbage areas whenever possible. Use disposable gloves when you do. Remember to sanitize your hands before you touch your doorknob and enter your apartment.
Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Elevators have poor ventilation and put you in close proximity to other people. Take the stairs whenever possible. If there’s no other choice but to take the elevator, press the button with your elbow. Use hand sanitizer before handling your doorknob and immediately wash your hands inside.
Limit the use of shared spaces. Limit your time in common and shared apartment building spaces you can. If you must use these, try going during less busy times, like early morning or late at night.
Limit guests in the building. The fact of the matter is that fewer visitors means less exposure to germs for everyone who lives there.
From ASMS office perspective, we would like to reiterate it will be business as usual, with the only changes being that the office will be locked, there will be no face to face non-essential meetings or maintenance and some personnel will be working remotely – however there is always staff available to assist you during this period.
